Interestingly both Mac and Shad and the medal rolls show him as G U Stevenson.
However my 1877 edition of Harts shows him as George Newcombe

Hi All,
George Newcombe Stevenson is Buried At the Parish Church of St Peter, Upper Slaughter, Gloucestershire. There is a picture on the findagrave website..
