It would be the Danube, the same ship that carried the Prince Imperial to South Africa.

Some of the Natal Witness articles are very difficult to read and send your eyes squiffy trying to work out what the text says.

Hi All,
Ernest Charles Hamar Crallan served during the Zulu War and Second Boer War, where he was Killed in Action Near Dordrecht 6 Febuary 1900. There is a Memorial Plaque to him in St Bartholomew's Anglican Church, Alice, Eastern Cape, South Africa. A photograph of the plaque is on the eGGsa grave site of South Africa.
