OBITUARY - On Sunday morning Lieutenant S C Alexander Natal Native Contingent died of dysentric diarrhoea. The deceased gentleman, who has only been in the colony some six months was a native of London and was in his twenty seventh year. His remains were interred yesterday morning in the new Jewish burial ground on the Town Hill. This is the first internment at this place.

On Saturdy morning Mr T.J.E. Scones will sell the private effects of the late Lieutenant Alexander Paymaster 3rd Battalion 1st Regiment NNC. Among the articles to be disposed of is a splendid microscope (new) with a large number of object slides. This microscope is really a good one and scientific and medical men would do well to have a look at it.

Lieut. Simeon Coleman Alexander, a jeweller by trade, was born Jul-Sep 1852 in Saffron Hill and died 5.1.1879 aged 26.

He would have been entitled to the medal without clasp.

I've never been able to find out how to amend titles. Where does it give the instructions to follow?

When you amend a post at the bottom there is a seperate box that says 'Reason For editing'
