Ensign, 3rd Foot, 1862 ; Lieutenant, 1867 ; Captain, 1873 ; Major, Royal Dublin Fusiliers, 1881. Passed Staff College, 1876. Brigade-Major, Mauritius, 1878 ; Deputy-Assistant-Adjutant-General, and Deputy-Assistant-Quartermaster-General, Gibraltar, 1878. Served in the Zulu War in 1879, and was appointed Chief Director of Transport to Colonel Pear-son's Column ; was shut up with the garrison in Fort Ekowe until relieved, and was present in the engagement at Inverzane (mentioned m despatches, Medal with clasp). Died at Malaga, Spam,14th December, 1882.
