| What other books are available with Refrence to genealogy connected to the Zulu War. I mean the one’s that really go into the background of those who fought in the Zulu War. I have the Nobel 24th. But that just names those that took part. And a bit about some of them more in-depth. Is the Legacy Series the only books that cover this? |

| Hi Impi . As far as I am aware Legacy is the only work that delves into their background after their Army service . If you dont have the series you should . They are well written , and researched as well as they can be !. It certainly is a labour of love on behalf of the ' Queen Of Research ' Kris Wheatley . cheers 90th. |

| Hi Impi,
You could also try ' A review of the South African Campaign of 1879 ' by Adrian Greaves and Ian Knight. This is not a detailed history of the Anglo Zulu War, but a tribute to the British officers who died. It contains a great deal of biographical information not available elsewhere, but of course is limited to British officer deaths only.

| Hi 90th,
My understanding is the Greaves and Knight book is the update of the Mckinnon and Shadbolt one, with more detail included from susbsequent research.

| Hi 90th,
I have just had a look at my copy of the Greaves and Knight book - it is an update of the original Mackinnon and Shadbolt one. In addition to the updates, it also now includes those officers who died of disease or injuries incurred during the AZW but died after the original books publication in 1880.
The update was originally published in 2000.

| The other books mentioned in this topic, cover military careers. The only books that I know of that cover’s the family life’s of the solders as well as military is the Legacy Series. |
