A special two day weekend event is planned for 24th-25th March 2012 at The BLACK HORSE public house PLUCKLEY, Kent. "GHOSTS OF THE ZULU WAR" will feature a large static exhibition, re-enactors in living history displays, films, artifacts and trade stands.
Saturday evening there will be a ticketed dinner with a talk by author IAN KNIGHT . Details are to be finalised soon. Exhibition is free to all, dinner tickets £45 each. Early booking is recommended tickets available early January 2012.

We got our tickets today, with the follwoing note attached

There is now a good possibitly that we will have H.R.H Prince Velekhaya Shange as a special geust. He is the great grandson of Prince Dabulamnzi the Zulu commander of Rorke's drift and a member of the Zulu Royal Family

Exhibition will be open from 11AM on Saturday and throughout the day . There will be several displays each day by the re-enactment lads in the garden drill, bayonet practice, demos of the Martini Henry rifle etc. times not specific and dependant on the weather. Dinner seating on Saturday is at 7pm. Ian knight should be on around 8.45pm . We now have confirmation that HRH Prince Velekhaya Shange ( gt grandson of Dabulamanzi) will be at the event and is Guest of Honour at the Dinner.

"Hi Peter, the exhibition will open at 11AM sat & sun to around 6.30 PM . Outside displays lunchtime and again mid afternoon depending on weather. I'm afraid the dinner is sold out . however I am seeing the landlord today and there may be cancellations . Will email if there are, regards Bob"

Admin. I totally agree. Did you get the name of the chap giving the talk. Absolutely brilliant overview of weapons and Tatics. I don't know Mr Driver. But if he a member well done. Looking forward to the photos. Salute

Best day was saturday.

The desendants of the Zulu commanders of Rorke's Drfit and Isandlwana were there.
Fred Hitches and John Williams desendants were there also.
Ian Knight gave a good talk, as did the Prince.

Adrian Greaves gave me the honour of holding the real Victoria Cross awarded to James Dalton
for the Defence of Rorke's Drfit. It was a real honour.
