Hi Neil, Thanks for posting that. I noted that the MH jamming issues, so often discussed, and refuted by some," came to a head" in the Sudan, post Isandlwana ,when changes were made by the MOD to the ammunition.

Barry Indeed, the Sudan C1885 was "the perfect storm", made 100% worse with the bandolier, the attention to which was draw to by Buller in his report of 11.6.1880., But in the Suakin campaing of the same time, it barely gets a mention (same desert effectively). The men involved were infantry in P71 equipment (might be some in 82').
Without wanting to re-ignite the "did it, didn't it debate", There is no doubt that in certain conditions jamming occurred, however as I was keen to stress the way it could be removed. I thought the video would give a better insight into the design of the cartridge.
