| i was on line to order a publication from the Museum shop and noticed they had a special offer on David Payne's Harford book. It normally retails at £65 - it is on offer at £20. A real bargain for a beautiful book. |

| Hi Sergio . I'm fairly certain when it was released for sale the price was 100 GBP'S , David Payne is a member on here , i managed to get one from ebay I think for 15 quid but postage was another 12 or so because of its weight and size . Yes , a wonderful book , no doubt about that . Cheers 90th. |

Me too. I am reading it now in tandem with a couple of other books Santa brought me. Hence all the posts of Harford said this/that! It is a fantastic book by someone in a key position who was right there with the central column. He also strikes me as being brave, intelligent and a man of complete integrity. Well worth the read; informative and entertaining - he was quite a guy. |

| Lucky we didn't lose him, when he impaled himself on the spiked fence when he was a nipper, he certainly had someone looking over his shoulder. |

Or when his ship nearly capsized on his first voyage to Africa. I was once on a Laser when the wind switched 180* and that was beyond my capabilities - went straight over! He certainly used up his nine lives! Often saved only by providence as he calls it! |
