[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Matiwanes son Zikhali took his people south-west to the Drakensberg, to what is now the amaNgwane Tribal Authority. But the amaNgwane had a score to settle and come the Anglo-Zulu War of 1879, Zikhalis Horse was raised to fight on the side of the British. The mounted troop was largely annihilated at the battle of Isandlwana.

I dont think there were to many mounted Natives killed at Isandlawna at all , they left , and managed to provide covering fire
at the F.D Crossing ! . Others escaped along the RD road . Dont know where or from whom these captions are coming from !!
There were a lot of Natives killed , Yes .....NNC .........unmounted ! Happy to be corrected ! .
