""Henry Alexander Schank, Esq. of Castlerig and Gleniston, b. 28 Sept. 1850: entered the army as Ensign in the 91st in 1871 ; and became Capt. in the 71st Highland Light Infantry in 1880 ; served in the Zulu war of 1879, and in the Egyptian war of 1882 (two medals and star). He d. 13 July, 1886."

First Appointment:- Ensign 91st Foot 14th January 1871
Lieutenant 91st Foot 28th October 1871
Instructor of Musketry from 1st December 1875 to 19th January 1880
Captain (1st Battalion) Highland Light Infantry 14th July 1880
South African War;- 1879 - Zulu Campaign - Employed in Natal. Medal.
