Because Patience is a virtue. Fools rush in where.......................................
But mostly because they didnt have a clue what was happening or the tempest about to hit. In addition Pulleine was obeying orders and defending the camp.

Because They Did not aim mostly have a clue what was happening or about to hit the tempest.
Well with all reports received since the beginning, all the cavalry, mounted infantry and light infantry, they remained, they would have known ...

So the fools won! And besides there were not one of the Zulu side that day ... The fools had exactly what they wanted after all ..
