Not knowing the date or source of your cutting, don't know why you source them!
There was a Private 25th Brigade/412 J Cassidy, 2nd/24th, who enlisted at Manchester, Lancashire on 24th July 1874, aged 22 years of age, who may be subject of the report. According to Norman Holme's 'The Noble 24th' Cassidy had a connection to Brighton in 1881.
May be we should add him to the list of defenders as well, or may be not.
