What info do you have on Pte Mason? As a descendent, you are in the best position to research his last known address, death certificate etc. Good luck - I hope you find this brave man's resting place.

His real name was " Frederick Herbert Brown.
It is believed he settled in Old Southgate, London. Where he died after a fall in 1936 aged 81.
Research is continuing.
But for a good indepth look into his life, obtain the above book. His life runs from page 34 to 45. Photos of your other ancestors also included.

Kris Wheatley sent me a copy of her book. I was able to provide her with all the photographs she used but we couldn't discover what happened to Charles/Henry after he left the army, whether he married and had issue and where he died and is buried.
