Thanks for the welcome guys. This is one fantastic forum. I've been heavily into the Zulu War since the 70's, so it made my day when i found this place.
The lancers aren't my first ZW modelling project, there have been many over the years. The very latest project has been to build Rorke's Drift in 28mm scale. Here is a greyscale comparison of the stores. Obviously minus the loopholed wall. I'll post some nice shots of the whole thing once the mealie walls are complete. Lovely job on those figures. :) I need to get some. I just got some Empress figures yesterday, 2 9 Pounders, Mounted Rifles, and a Royal Artillery Officer, and I'm very impressed with the quality.
Welcome Gaz & AnnaTC, Nice to see some others splashing paint on military miniatures. Unfortunately way too small for my eyes to paint. Gaz, great work in 28mm scale very well done, look forward to seeing more from you both. cheers Richie A fellow paint splasher.

They look really good. I have been meaning to buy some Empress Miniatures British infantry and/or some of their plastic Zulus, but I have a ton of Napoleonics and Sudan figures from the Perrys to finish off first! Good luck with Rorkes Drift, there are quite a few good blogs out there with people who have made models of it if you need inspiration.
