"The term ‘Tiffin,’ is of Anglo Indian and Hindustani origin used mainly in English households for luncheon."

Kind regards,

Back in 1988 I did a lecture tour in Hong Kong and on one occasion was taken for tiffin at the Peninsular. What an experience that was - the last gasp of colonialism. I believe you can still take tiffin there but is not quite the same atmosphere as was.

90th, you lucky so and so, but don't get too grogged up on the cheap ale mate, you might end up down a donga  Shocked

Some years ago Fry's made a chocolate biscuit bar called Tiffin, I think that Cadbury's make one these days.

When are you coming over to Blighty mate? Let me know so that I can take you to our local watering hole for some 'light refreshments', with maybe a drop or two of the old 'tincture'.  agree

You have a great time old chap.

Hi Martin
Very Happy  , do it ok , will have more drink once the tour starts I'd imagine , quaffing a few as the sun sets over Isandlwana I'd think .
To be honest I hadnt heard of Tiffin before , I dont think Cadbury make it as I'm sure I'd know of it ? . I'm partial to their products , like most of Australia as it has a huge factory in Hobart Tasmania , been there twice , cheap chocolate , nearly as good as cheap beer ! . Anyway got to go , the breakfast buffet is calling ! , got 3 and half hrs before meeting up with Ian Knight and the tour at the airport , after b'fast I'll have an hour !!! LOL. No plans to get to the UK , finance's depleted ! , it's cheap here , but the next trip with the Missus will be a killer ! LOL.
