Subject: Can anyone identify this South Wales Borderers officer? Wed Aug 20, 2014 10:19 am
Just arrived this morning can anyone identify the South Wales Borderers Captain depicted in this photograph please?
I have an inkling it may be Charles Curll.
The photograph was taken in Dublin circa 1888, which is consistent with the 1st Battalion South Wales Borderers being in Ireland. In Martin Everett's book The South Wales Borderers (24th Regiment of Foot) 1881-1969 there is a group photograph of 1st S.W.B.'s on page 12 with Curll in it but it is hard to tell.

Bonjour Mister YOUNG,
As you know there is also a photo of CURLL with a group of NNC men and others officers in Zululand in 1879 (Article Keith I. SMITH / "Letters from Charlie" / from memory). But the photo is very bad... Cheers Frédéric
