The caption is incorrect as anyone can see if they have any clue on the zulu war ! . This is Raw finding the zulu army in the Ngwebini Valley ! . And no Dave , this is not having a go at you , unless it's your own caption ?. 90th

Hi Dave/90th Some time ago I contacted the writer of that Maritzburg blog. The whole article is filled with inaccuracies, and unauthorised use of inserts, including my own photos of Shepstones grave. The author ignored me for a full year before bothering to reply and still hasn't corrected the headings or removed my photos. Don't believe anything this man says or intimates. Ive got a three year old grandson that knows more than him, hell Ive got a twelve year old border collie that knows more and shes as thick as a plank !

The unit was led by Captain Theophilus Shepstone (1843-1907), a son of Sir Theophilus Shepstone, administrator of the Transvaal 1877-1879. After the Battle of Isandlwana (1879) Captain Shepstone was sent to the Orange Free State to recruit more men, his command reaching a strength of 186. Shepstone's Native Horse was among the irregular cavalry at the Battle of Ulundi (1879) sent out to lure the Zulus on to the British square. Source:NAM
