Walter Barrett , part of the 3rd lot of Commissary officers to arrive in Sth Africa , arrived in Natal 1st June 1879 . Acting Commissary Walter H Barrett was placed in charge of the depot at Port Durnford in june 1879 , immediately after arriving in Natal , Was subsequently in charge of the depot at St Pauls Mission Station , from whence he was invalided home in Sept , suffering from fever . From M & S .
