| He proceeded to Natal with Drafts, and served in that colony and the Transvaal during the latter part of the War.
Date of Birth - 14th June 1852
First Appointment - Sub Lieutenant - 7th Foot - 3rd August 1872
Lieutenant - Royal Fusiliers - 3rd August 1874
Captain - Royal Fusiliers (2nd Battalion) - 24th May 1883
Special Service, South Africa - June 1879 to 7th November 1879
South African War - 1879 - Zulu Campaign. Mentioned in Despatches. Medal with Clasp. - Transvaal Campaign, 1881. - Served with the Mounted Infantry Corps from 10th January 1881 to 10th January 1882.
