| Hi All As some of you are most likely aware , I've been back from the Ian Knight & Paul Marais Tour for just under a week , I'd like to thank one of our members , Johann Englebrecht , and his wife Gudrin ( hope the spelling is right ? ) for our stay at his Guesthouse ' Dusk Till Dawn ' , I cant recommend it more highly , it was superb , a fantastic place , excellent guest rooms and amenities , no doubt one of the best places I've stayed anywhere ! , certainly top of my list with places I've stayed in Sth Africa . Johann certainly knows his stuff , on , and in , the Luneburg area , regarding the early settlements , and of coarse the war of 1879 , along with the earlier Shaka Battles . Once I get hold of someone to put my pics on the laptop , I'll certainly send some pics to Graves1879 ( Sorry Mate ) , hopefully he'll post them on here when he gets the chance , if anyone is thinking of going to SA , and looking for somewhere to stay in the Luneburg area , you cant do any better than to contact Johann , he runs Tours etc from his Guesthouse , believe me , you wont be disappointed , I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again , Ian & Paul were so impressed they are looking into making Johann's place a permanent fixture from late 2017 onwards . Thanks again Johann , everybody had a wonderful time . Cheers 90th |

| Thank you Gary for the kind words! It really was a great weekend, one I had been looking forward to for a long time!! Great sharing with you guys and also meeting other like-minded, crazy Zulu War enthusiasts!!! Looking forward to the next visit! Hope I can show you something new then and to convince Mr Knight about the actual position of the V shaped laager of Moriarty!!!! |

| Hi All,
For those with Tom Tom's etc and interested in calling in to this guest house in the future it's location is 27deg 11.703'S/31deg0.112'E. To find it travel out of Piet Retief, south, on the Pongola road for 29.7km. Turn right at grid loc 27deg 12.495' S/31deg01.637'E. The farm will be found some kilometres ahead in picturesque farmland. Using the above locations on Google earth well illustrates the setup on your computer screen.
Regards,
Barry |
