I visited this grave today and just for info the picture of the grave shown on here is correct but the picture of the church and the place of burial are wrong ,he is actually buried in Maundy north yorkshire not Howarth west yorkshire ,I have pics of the grave and the correct church on my bloghttp://wargamesandwalking.blogspot.com

no problem , we went to howarth last week and spent a couple of hours looking for him in the rain ,so it became a quest to visit him .We are trying to visit as many as we can before we go to Zululand next year.

Talking of errors, look at his birth year on this grave stone! That makes him only 10 years of age during the Zulu War. It should be 1859.
