    Lt.Colonol A. A. Morshead served in the Kafir war in 1877-78 as District Adjutant of the Transkei and Cisvaal Districts, and was present in the operations against the Galekas and in tho engagements at Newmaka and Quintana (mentioned in despatches); also served in the Zulu war in 1879 (Medal with Clasp).

    A.A.Morshead was a Capt in the 1/24th Regt during the AZW , served with the Bttn throughout the war . Was in the laagar at Emtonjaneni during the battle of Ulundi .
