A shot in the dark - Lionel George Henry D'Aguilar - who was Second Lieutenant in the Grenadier Guards volunteered for service in South Africa and was attached to 2/2th from June 1879. He was award a RHS Bronze Medal for rescuing a man in the River Thames at Maidenhead in July 1886.
