Hi Everyone, I have just published a book on the lost history of John Robert Dunn, called 'Chief with Ears the Sunlight Shines Throught' by Susan Nind-Barrett. This book updates all my previous writings. It includes newly discovered (and quite surprising) facts about John Dunn and his family.

Much has been written about the Anglo-Zulu War of 1879 from a military standpoint by learned war historians, and  there is a wealth of literature on every aspect of it. This book is a personal history and is to be regarded as such; it is not a military biography, to which it makes no pretensions.
As this is a personal history of John Dunn, it was not my intention to give a detailed account of individual battles or to stray into Anglo-Zulu War politics. References to the war are only those in which Dunn played an active role and are in no way intended to be a descriptive account of individual battles or an all-inclusive account of the war.

This book has been well researched from authors that were present on the ground at the time of events, British parlimentary papers, British and South African newspapers, genealogical documentation, as well as Queen Victoria's dairies.  As an addition, extra noteworthy information is added in extensive footnotes.

Please visit www.john-dunn.com or search Amazon for: 'Chief with Ears the Sunlight Shines Throught -  The Lost History of John Dunn' by Susan Nind-Barrett.
