Recent research has resulted in my extensive use of Harts Military lists. Although I am fortunate to own several hard copies I have been filling in the blanks with the fantastic resource provided by the National Library of Scotland.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] For anyone who has used these lists they will know that the search page number does not always match the actual publication page number.
There is a seperate search field but this is not always helpful if looking for a common name so one has to rely on the Index at the back of the book.
Whilst I was doing my research I was scribbling down index numbers that helped me when jumping from year to year.
I ended up with quite a list and thought I would type them out and put them up here on the forum to help anyone else carrying out their own research. You still have to do a bit of digging but hopefully this just makes things a little quicker.
You will have to search the index for the name but by listing the end page number of the index, it gives you a better chance of honing in on your required subject when using the grid view.
If anyone spots any errors please let me know and I will amend the list.
