| The Weekly Mail, Saturday, October 25, 1879.
The Royal Glamorgan Militia
Return of Volunteers from Zululand.
Captain Arthur Kemeys - Tynte and Lieutenant Edward Kemeys - Tynte, both of the Royal Glamorgan Light Infantry militia, arrived at Portsmouth on the 2nd instant, in the steam transport Egypt, with the 1st Battalion 24th Regiment from Natal. These officers ( who have been attached to the 1- 24th Regiment since April last for service in Zululand, and accompanied the Battalion on its march to Ulundi), on taking leave of their gallant comrades at Portsmouth, were thanked in the Regimental orders by Colonel Glyn C.B, for their valuable service whilst with the Regiment, and they also received the compliment of being elected perpetual honorary members of the Regimental mess by the officers of that distinguished Corps. |

| Admin I believe this might be another regimental unit (The Royal Glamorgan Light Infantry Militia) to add to the British regiments that took part in the Zulu war, Forum. Or maybe to small a unit.
Not sure if any other members of this unit took part in the Zulu war. Was it an official regiment? If so perhaps these were the only two to volunteer.
Just a thought Eddie |

| Came across this post by chance. Edward was my great grandfather. I’m another Edward. Photo of his regimental badge and half the belt buckle. And a photo of him with family. |
