Old soldiers end at Newport Empty
PostSubject: Old soldiers end at Newport   Old soldiers end at Newport EmptyThu Oct 27, 2022 10:14 pm

South Wales Daily News, Friday, March 8, 1895.

At the Newport Town Hall on Thursday, Mr Lydon Moore, borough coroner, held an inquest on the body of David young aged 64, an old soldier, who had died practically in the streets.
On the body was found a soldier's discharge, which showed that the deceased had been a private in the 13th Light Infantry.
The result of the postmortem examination showed that Young died from fatty degeneration of the heart, and the jury returned a verdict of death from heart desease.
