Soldiers compensation for the AZW Empty
PostSubject: Soldiers compensation for the AZW   Soldiers compensation for the AZW EmptySun Jan 01, 2023 6:57 pm

Natal Witness 12th May 1881

The War Office authorities have at last decided to give some little compensation to the troops engaged in the late Zulu War for the extra expenditure they were put to on account of severe wear and tear and regiments have been authorised to pay to each man who crossed into Zululand between the 11th January and the 1st September 1879, the magnificent sum of £1.
