| Thanks Kate, very interesting. By my reckoning the following seem to be the most likely (several not certain as no initials given) candidates for each team:
A Coy Capt JMG Tongue 1248 Cpl James Henshaw + 2389 Cpl John Key (later B Coy Rorkes Drift) 2383 Drum John Meehan (Rorkes Drift) 1114 Pte W Driscoll (T Driscoll was in B Coy and the other 2 only 1879 clasp) 894 Pte James Davis + (others possible) 465 Pte T Elliott 1015 Pte Edward Malley + 1731 Pte John Manley (Rorkes Drift patient Drummer on roll) 794 Pte Thomas White + (others possible) 537 Pte J Wilkinson (or 2839 TW Wilkinson has no clasp)
H Coy Lt GS Banister (Capt on medal roll) 2Lt LGL Dobree (maybe F Coy later I think?) 2131 Sgt J Gittins (C/Sgt on medal roll) 2340 Sgt J Howes 2387 Drum E Stevens 1208 Pte J Churchill (or 1418 J Churchill who deserted) 953 Pte Frederick Evans (possible) 954 Pte Thomas Evans (Rorkes Drift) (possible) 1041 Pte Alfred Farr + 1675 Pte J Keane (no Kearn in medal roll) 2004 Pte W Stanley
+ indicates KIA at Isandlwana
Regards. Phil

| I overlooked 2 possible candidates for the Evans of H Coy:
953 Pte Frederick Evans (I think H Coy too?) 954 Pte Thomas Evans (Rorkes Drift)
