Hoping someone can help. A friend of mine as a fascination with Victorian surgical procedures, actually he doe’s has quite an in-dept knowledge into this subject.
He wants to know how long Major John Chard lived after he had his operation for tongue cancer and is there any medical records available on the web regarding Chards illness.

Hi Impi

This link has been posted before giving details of John Chard's life - follow the link and then click on the John Chard link - it gives details of his life and his illness is covered under Section 59:- http://www.weavo.co.uk/hatch/
Although this section is somewhat brief it does give dates of the various operations.
