| Barry. See my last two posts in the topic in-question. If you feel you have someting that could move this topic forward, that isn't going to cause it to go off topic or members to attacked each other i would be more than happy to unlock. I would like to see the informaion coming from more than one source. Please PM me what you intend to post. |

Hi Admin,
Thanks for your response on the locking of a subject. Unfortunately, I only quote from one source of information, ie one of the most originals, ie the hitherto unpublished writings of a person who was actually a participant in the AZW. Now, it would seem that the problem was that this reality may not gel with currently held popular views of what they believe the history should be and the mental gymnastics trying to accommodate this became too much for them. Sad. I also noticed the uncalled for insults and abuse instigated from only one quarter. So, to avoid any more of this unjustified and thoroughly boorish behaviour, I am closing the files and will post no further.
regards
barry

| On any open forum, be it history, science or any section of the academic world, when a theory is proposed it is subjected to scrutiny to the smallest degree. The missing five hours theory, a magnificently researched paper was first posted it brought howls of indignation and a miriad of intense questioning. The questions were answered with sources quoted or referenced, where reasoning took place this was justified and again subjected to scrutiny.
When two theories are put forward: Durnfords comitting suicide and the Prince Imperials eye ball being served lunch its only natural that questions will be asked and the proponents of those theories questioned.
To have those questions bypassed and exhultations posted reveling in a wonderful discovery is bound to atract questioning in turn.
The proponents of those two theories were asked to provide proof or indicate sources.
Barry responded with his explanation of Clarks diaries, to which he was asked for proof ( no disrespect intended). One cannot merely opine that one has the proof, it has to be shown to be acceptable. Without that it is merely a passing comment.
Again the administrator has requested that the said diary entries be published, this has been refused.
The forum must therefore judge for it self the veracity of any claims.
I have thouroghly enjoyed reading the Clark diary excepts published, and have complimented the forum member accordingly and would hope that the member would reconsider his comments and continue to make them available.
I do believe that as forum members and contributors to a very widely read audience we do have a duty to ensure that conclusions reached and discussions embarked on do not leave false impressions in the minds of that audience. I recall a member commenting that her two children are avid followers. I would regard it as a crying shame that those two young minds are corupted to the extent that a genertaion of The Washing of The Spears readers were.
For that and all my comments I make no apology whatsoever. |

| The key is to stay polite even if you are upset by what they read.
And you have the right not to be in agreement, but must keep your cool ...
And we do not deal with stupid people that we do not know, especially when they are not and are far from it.
If not with me, the reaction is immediate and I have more vocabulary than you for this little game here ...

| CTSG, this is a discussion forum of mainly middle aged men and a 14 year old boy. It is not a war and people who resign their membership are not casualties. |
