| Hi My names Sam and as all of you have, I have a keen interest in the Anglo Zulu war and history of around this time and especially of the British Empire. Now at 17 years old, I havent really been taught anything through my education about the wars and have only become interested through both films which I would and still watch repeatedly and it is through these that I wanted to know the truths of the famous battles and get to understand the people involved rather then marvel at Stanley and Michael on the big screen. All I wanted to know from you, as I know from reading these forums avidly over the past few days (upon discovery) are your recommendations for material e.g books, documentaries that I can get hold of to learn more. I have done much internet research and read a couple of Ian Knight books so far but just wondered if their was anything that people would recommend to me that they have found useful. It would perhaps help me in the near future as I think I am going to produce some sort of research into the Anglo Zulu War as my own project to aid me in a side project I am conducting in my spare time aside from my A-Levels but more importantly I just have a keen interest on a personal level. Any reccommendations would be great, (I know it is quite a broad thing to ask) Cheers Sam : |

| Hi PrvtSamuel24th. I agree with what has been said so far , but as you say is correct - there are many spectrums to the war ie , different battles , over-views , etc etc . I'll send you a pm . Lastly welcome to the forum , you should learn much from those on here , plus what has already been posted over the 3 yrs or so of this Forum's existance . A good tip is to use the search box facility . cheers 90th. |
