Wolseley and the officers of the 2/21st Empty
PostSubject: Wolseley and the officers of the 2/21st   Wolseley and the officers of the 2/21st EmptySat Jan 19, 2013 12:14 pm

Hi All
Just lifted the quote below from Laband's essay that Springbok posted up yesterday on AZW authors.

" Sir Garnet Wolseley who wrote in his diary after hauling the officers of the 2/21st Regiment over the coals: ‘I have made enemies of them for life, but I felt bound to say what I did in the interests of the army’. "
A. Preston (ed.), The South African Journal of Sir Garnet Wolseley 1879-1880 (1973), p. 216: 21 January 1880

Anyone know what this is about, or if the publication above is easily accessible ?

Wolseley and the officers of the 2/21st Empty
PostSubject: Re: Wolseley and the officers of the 2/21st   Wolseley and the officers of the 2/21st EmptySun Jan 20, 2013 9:44 am

Hi Tasker .
I did a search and couldnt find a copy anywhere for sale , which means if one was around it'd be very expensive I'd think .
I'd say it will cover his time from when he arrived in Sth Africa in 1879 until he probably left in 1880 .
Cheers 90th.
