99th Regiment - Lieutenant Alan Elderton. He served in Natal during the Zulu Campaign and retired in 1883. It is believed that this photograph was taken in December 1882. Photographer: Lauder Bros, 82, Westmoreland Street, Dublin, Ireland

Lt.Alan Elderton served as a 2nd Lt in the 99th during the AZW , he is entitled to the Medal with clasp 1879 . If you look at the photo posted by Littlehand you can make out a medal on his left breast , or at least he appears to be wearing one ! .
