Lieutenant-Colonel Cross-Zulu war in 1879 with the Mounted Infantry of the Flying Column and with the Cavalry Patrol until the capture of King Cetewayo (medal with clasp: Boer war of I881 with the Mounted Infantry of the Natal Field Force.
