Hi Pascal .
Pvt's Bickley ( Bandsman On Sentry Duty ) , Edmund Wilson ( Bandsman acting as Stretcherbearer ) , John Williams ( Glyn's Groom ) . So a total of 3 that I found , also 5 from the Rocket Battery but they were most likely mounted .
cheers 90th. This info from Julian Whybra's ; England's Sons .

thank you "les gars"

It is amazing because you figure that there is a factory that was wrong in uniform and made three of the 24 th infantry on horseback in the uniform exactly those that were not in the mounted Imperial infantry and sell under this name !

While the uniform was different for the Imperial Mounted Infantry ...

So there are two musicians who were not of Buglers, so with a particular uniform ... I'll still eat the Green Stuff ...

And the 8 ,24 th infantrymen of the rocket battery, they traveled on horseback with the mules which carried the rocket launchers? I thought all personnel of the battery was on foot, except the artillery officer ...

Remains to be seen what kind of horses saved their life, Returned horses or ponies or horses of their unit, this question is to equip these horses ...

Cheers

Hi Pascal .
DB14 is correct no Infantrymen of the 24th survived the battle , the 3 men I mentioned were not part of the regular infantry
required to be on the firing line , I suppose the 2 bandmen wore Bandsmen's uniforms and Glyn's Groom possibly wore the standard 24th Regt uniform but I dont know for sure . I also dont know if the troops in the rocket battery were mounted or not .
Hope this is a little clearer for you . Salute
cheers 90th

Thank you for support both, I think the guys from the battery of rockets were on foot, then as I have only three figures on horseback wearing this uniform, I will do two musicians without musical instruments and the groom ...

Thank you again, you just save of the merger three soldiers and three horses ...

Cheers

littlehandious and twentyous fourthious

The first picture is interesting, it is what army and what epoque ?

For the rest, it makes me ask a question! Why, there were rocket launchers in the Royal Artillery and in the Royal Navy, as there was no aviation in the Zulu Royal Army ?

Cheers

But to do that, I thought the Zulu would run faster than horses over rough terrain?
