Lt. Melvill: Well done, Sir! Did you see that Noggs? Deceived him with the up and took him with the down. Norris-Newman: Well well, this one's a grandfather at least. If he'd been a Zulu in his prime I'd have given odds against your lancer, Mr.Melvill.

Funny about that ! , as I mentioned yesterday , or the day before , it seems it was open slather out here in the Aussie newspapers , where all the old returned English Soldiers stated they were in the AZW ! . Some were , but most of them that said they were , weren't ! Shocked Rolling Eyes

The following comes from Petty Officer Tom.

The only James Glazbrook that I could find the National Archive’s Naval Ratings record is:
ADM 188/67/77666
Name Glazbrook, James
Official Number: 77666
Place of Birth: Portsmouth, Hampshire
Date of Birth: 29 March 1853

The 1881 Census has the following:
Name: James Glazbrook
Age: 28
Estimated birth year: abt 1853
Gender: Male
Where born: Portsmouth, Hampshire, England
Civil Parish: Vessels
County/Island: Royal Navy
Country: England
Street address: "Malabar"

Occupation: Engineers Cook

Thanks POT for the information and correct spelling of his name. Yes he is listed on the Medal Roll.
