| I have today been informed by the Zulu Royal House of the death of His Royal Highness Prince Joseph M. Zulu.
'J. M.' - as he preferred to be called - was the Great-Grandson of Prince Dabulamanzi kaMpande.
Some of the forum may have met 'J. M.' at the Royal Engineers Museum's Zulu War event that was held in late May 2003/early June 2003.
He was a proud promoter of Zulu history and he had a great knowledge of the oral history relating to the Zulu War.
He was an imposing figure in more ways than one, and he will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Go Well 'J.M.'
hamba kahle umNtwana.

| John,
That most certainly is not the late Prince Joseph Zulu.
'J.M.' as previously stated was the great-grandson of Prince Dabulamanzi kaMpande. 'The Diehards' will have cause to remember him as he commanded the impi at the 120th anniversary at Isandlwana.
He was involved the former monuments council with regard to the creation and upkeep of reconstructed huts of King Cetshwayo's Ulundi. Along with his cousin, Prince Shange, he was the custodian of the oral history of his forebears including King Mpande and Prince Dabulamanzi.
SAS1,
I'll have a dig around for a decent photograph of 'J.M.'

| I contacted the SABC and EWN and asked why they had not broadcast his death, there was such a level of apathy I couldn't believe it. I hope the Kwa Zulu Natal stations picked it up |

| Frank,
The funeral was this morning at Ulundi, I had a telephone call fom there and judging by the background noise there were quite a crowd present.
