| I, for one, think it is very clever the way she has "imagined" the conversation! |

| Isandulu, JY.. agreed. not for the novice who would no doubt have their views slanted by the ' imaginings ' of the author.. but definitely a new twist and even enjoyable when one understands the ' context ' of the campaign in the round.. she brings together a lot of historical fact and provides suitable footnotes, but i feel uneasy reading the alleged conversations of the various participants.. but again i found it very easy to read and digest..
Yes JY, I have read her web pages a couple of years ago, and i suppose she has as much right to ' have a crack ' as anybody else.. but reader be aware.. saying this..if any body could put me on to vol 1 i would be most grateful, i suspect it was privately printed, a trawl of the usual suspects have drawn a blank.. ctsg i thought you might have had a view on this. xhosa |

| Les,
It would surely do for the meantime?
I have one Zulu War e-book on my device, and the corrections would look awful if it were the real McCoy.

| JY. i bought a generic reader from wh smith about ten years ago cost me £60 squid i recall.. downloaded tons onto it, first ' read ' was The Three Musketeer's. got the hang of the device fairly quickly, flipping and swiping blah blah.. i found the experience soul destroying, it just was not right for me.. gave it to the sister in law. i'm not even a technophobe i enjoy keeping up to date with the current devices and new platforms. i guess it's print only for me, things i can touch and feel.. i have never tried to catalogue anything i have a lot of it is stored away.. i would lay certain odds that you and others are organised to the tee. |

| In reply to JY..

Serendipity is a wonderful thing, today i received an e mail from the author Penny Howcroft.. she informed me she only had two copies of the book left!, but she will be visiting relatives in the uk in july and will bring vol 1 with her so that i can arrange to get the book direct, how very thoughtful of her, and so lucky for me. |
