| Does anyone have a copy of 'Zululand Sketches' by G K Moberly (publ Pietermaritzburg 1945). No library in the UK has a copy. I contains a reference to or a short essay to Isandhlwana which I'd like to find out about but it is very expensive to buy, sight unseen, second-hand over the internet.

| Julian I have a couple of Moberly books tucked away in storage. It may take a few days to locate but yes I can help, assuming that Xhosa 2000 doesn't have an easier access. I think its a safe bet he has them at hand.

| Xhosa Great! They are selling for around £100 second-hand. Somewhere in it is a ref to Isandhlwana - a paragraph , maybe several. Could you let me know whether it's pertinent, relevant, interesting. If it's not much, could you scan and send. If it's umpteen pages of not very uninformative blather then don't bother. Thanks for looking it up. Julian |

| Julian I think the one you want is A square deal and other Zululand Stories by GK Moberly. Theres nothing in the romance of any interest. I shall continue hunting for the second one, its here some where. |

| Actually chaps, it IS Zululand Romance and there MUST be a reference to Isandhlwana in it. As you might guess, this is not a whim, I do have a specific reason for trying to find the reference and I would be very grateful if one of you could find it. |

| Google books normally give quite a good preview of books. This it all it shows on this book, part of page 9
"Visit the battlefield of Isandhlwana (Isandula) stand near the foot of that histrionic hill where, admidst the coarse"
Not Much help I know. |

| Littlehand That is actually a great help because it shows that there is a reference on page 9. Frank, perhaps you could look it up for me for the full quotation? Thanks, Littllehand. |

| Julian Visit the battlefield of Isandhlwana (Isandula) stand near the foot of that histrionic hill where, admidst the coarse grass the little cluster of stone cairns marks the last resting place of the victims of a ghastly tragedy. How peaceful it all is. Barely a mile away an oasis of trees shows the position of a mission station, or rather a theological college for natives training for the priesthood. |

| Nice one Frank!, i have spent the morning at the storage unit, it took an hour of sifting and getting no where when i remembered the Bhambata connection, i have a box of related items in a box, the usual things, Stuart, Bosman, Mark's, Thompson ect, along with a long consecutive run of blue books and ephemera. trouble was the box was'nt in storage but in the spare room.. got home and located it in minute's.. wild goose chase springs to mind, but Julian called and we duly mobilised. wrong book i'm afraid but i will enjoy re reading the short stories again.
