Natal, Transvaal and Zululand Empty
PostSubject: Natal, Transvaal and Zululand   Natal, Transvaal and Zululand EmptySun Feb 25, 2018 6:32 pm

Published in Leeds in 1879 and based on two lectures delivered by William Hartley at the end of the war. Hartley was a long serving Durban councillor and had been mayor in 1859/60. Unsurprisingly, it is an account from the colonial viewpoint which attempts to counterbalance the prevailing view in Britain at the time (which largely laid the blame for events on the colonial authorities). The booklet is available as a British Library reprint but is very scarce in its original form.
