Library destroyed

There is a major fire raging out of control on Table Mountain, it swept down into UCT and destroyed a large part of the Jagger library, home to a huge amount of documents on the AZW. Still burning

Most of the Jagger has gone, I was due in there Wednesday to do some research.

There are/were an enormous amount of largely unexplored works. Ive been trolling through them for a number of years, I know that ymob has also spent a long time ploughing through as well.

Thats not good. Lets hope there were some documents saved or at least stored in fire proof containers.

Hi All,
Damage to university buildings and contents has been extensive. One ray of hope for the library was that care had been taken to digitise much of the documents. Just how much will probably never be known.
