1879 clasp

The three children Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Cross. Woodvllle. Savlle Road, Hebden Bridge—Diana (11). Kathryn (7) and David Alexander (6) —are thrilled at the prospect of being able to broadcast their 92-year-old greatgrandfather In the Diamond Jubilee programme of the B.B:C. tomorrow night. It Is six years since the children last saw Mr. Alexander Cross, who Is Chelsea Pensioner. A veteran of the Zulu wars, he served the old R.A.S.C. The children's message him was recorded Leeds Sunday. They will tell him they would like to hear about some his war-time experiences. The children are eagerly waiting to hear their great-grandfather's reply the air.
