Hi All, Another difficult one. Cannot find any Military records for him.
A, Ralph Egerton dies 1930 a probate record, which states Ralph Asheton Grey Egerton died 6 May 1930, address 'Birchells' Stansted, Mount Fitchet, Essex. Another death record gives his birth as 1855, with him being buried at Birchanger Church Essex in 1930.

After giving Rob Caskie a talk about Alan at St Mary's today I went down to Birchanger church but could find no trace of Ralph's headstone (if he has one).
Not the best time of year to go grave hunting though with all the falling leaves.
Will get in touch with one of the wardens and see what else I can find.

Conductor Egerton, who it will be remembered saved the colours of the 94th Reg. after the attack at Bronkhorst Spruit has been rewarded with promotion to the rank of Lieut. in that Regiment.
