Captain or Lieutenant Melville, who was killed at the cape, had only been married two days, - The World.

And there was I labouring under the misapprehension that Lieutenant Teignmouth Melvill had married Sarah Elizabeth Reed in February 1876. The couple had two sons, Teignmouth Philip Melvill born 1877, and Charles William Melvill born 1878.
