I don't suppose the British soldiers had "dog-tags" or any other sort of identification on them
during the AZW?

No, I'm afraid not.

They could have had their name and number wrote on kit, belts etc. I believe one RA body was recognised by his Regimental number wrote on the inside of his belt.

The rifle and bayonet numbers etc would have been recorded to a particular soldier but nothing like personsal ID
