PostSubject: Ron Lock and Peter Quantrill: Source Kind Permission Of Authors.   Thu Jan 01, 2009 10:47 pm

Like many enthusiasts of the AZW the film Zulu sent me on a Journey into this interesting subject.
I have collected many books on the subject from well know authors. My first book to adorn my collection was the washing of the spears by the late By Donald R. Morris
The second was they fell like stones by John Young. I have many book by Ian Knight whom I have had the pleasure of Meeting in person.

But the books that have inspired me the most are those by Ron Lock and Peter Quantrill both of whom live in South Africa and have nothing but pure dedication to this subject. Ron and Peter are without doubt among the, if not the most senior authority on the AZW their research leaves no stone unturned. Zulu Victory brought us new information revelling a cover-up relating to the Battle of Isandlwana. Their books give a clear insight loaded with factual information and contain excellent photo’s some of which are very rare. For those interested in the AZW I would recommend any if not all of the publications but Ron and Peter.
Peter once told me
Quote:
“by and large the subject is most definitely a labour of Love, nay, a passion! Such passion holds no monopoly”

Never a truer word spoken by Authors with so much dedication. Long after we have gone the names of by Ron Lock and Peter Quantrill will always be associated with the AZW.

Publications by Ron Lock and Peter Quantrill

The Red Book, a compilation of newspaper reports of 1879 covering the Anglo-Zulu War. http://www.zuluwars.co.za/images/stories/Red%20BookSmall.jpg

Zulu Victory. The Epic of Isandlwana and the Cover Up. http://www.rrw.org.uk/productimages/155S.jpg

The Zulu War through the Eyes of the London Illustrated news. Every report and illustration that appeared in 52 issues of the ILN for the year 1879

Zulu Vanquished. The Destruction of the Zulu Kingdom. The sequel to Zulu Victory describes the second invasion of the Zulu Kingdom.

Zulu Frontiersman, Dennison recounts his remarkable exploits in rich and lively prose. Originally published in 1904 in abridged form (under the title A Fight to the Finish) his memoirs have now been expertly reworked by Ron Lock and Peter Quantrill in order to reinstate some of the fascinating details missing from the earlier published account, including for example Dennison's involvement in and dramatic escape from the battle of Hlobane.

Admin you have not quite mastered the art yet. But some of what you say is correct and a lot of what you say is in-correct.

I will send you a P/M

Elizabeth I would like to make it clear that I do-not think for a moment you are who you claim to be.
Your comments to sas1 where you state the same happen to you on the other forum are no way the same. The private message you sent was deleted before I had finished it.
And your views on some of the authors relating to the AZW are without doubt un-founded.
So to be honest I would like to nip this in the bud, and suggest you find another forum where you can freely give you miss representation of the AZW.
You are not welcome on the 1879zuluwar.talk-forums.com.

Admin.
