"Wilfred Turner Anderson took part in the operations against Sekukuni in 1878 and served with Regiment on the Swazi Border during 1879. Wilfred was present at the final Battle of the Zulu War at Ulundi. In 1901 he was living in Portsmouth, Hampshire as a ‘Retired Army Officer, Infantry. Age 55.
Grave location. Highland Road Cemetery, Southsea, Hampshire, England"

Here is some information regarding Anderson from Terry Hope's book ; A Staffordshire Regiment In The Zulu & Sekukuni Campaigns 78 -79 - 80 th Regt Of Foot .

William Turner Anderson ( Captain ) DOB 24th March 1846 , Newcastle Upon Tyne . Age on entering service 19yrs 5 mths .
Attended Military School or College , Served as a Cadet at the Royal Military College . Service and Dates of Commission .
Ensign or Cornet , 80th Regt Aug 4th 1865 ( P), Lt , Oct 14th 1868 (P), Captain , Nov 9th 1877, Major , July 9th 1881 , Lt Col , 2nd Btn Sth Staff Regt July 1st 1888 , Retired July 1st 1888 , ( P) Commission by Purchase . Periods Of Employment ; Home Aug 4th 1865 - Jan 11th 1872 , Strait Settlements Jan 12th 1872 - Dec 27th 1872 , China Dec 28th 1872 - Aug 21st 1874 ,
Home Aug 22nd 1874 - Nov 17th 1877 . Staff Service Record , Served as Superintendent Of Volunteers 1878 , South Africa Medal With Clasp 78-79 , Height 5' 8 '' , Spoke French . There is a photo on page 223 of this book , caption reads ; Officer of the 80th Regt of foot , C 1879 , believed to be Capt Wilfred Turner Anderson . Anderson took part in operations against Sekukuni in 1878 , and served with the regt on the Swazi border 1879 , As littlehand has stated he was present at Ulundi .

Just to Clarify his first name.
It looks like the entry in Terry Hope's book is incorrect. William is not his first name, Wilfred is.

The following is from 1911 Census which was written by his own hand.

Also just to clarify It's the Robert Hope book that has him as William early in the description , before calling him Wilfred at the end of the description .
