| Bad news I'm afraid I have just read that Joe Quintini,The1stLt, passed away three days ago following a bout of pneumonia.
Joe loved the Anglo-Zulu War through the medium of model soldiers, and he brightened up the forums he visited with photographs of his collection.
I never got the chance to meet Joe except online, but I'm going to miss him all the same.
Go Well Joe!

| I'm very saddened to hear of Joe's passing , we communicated not often , but enough for me to call him a friend . I didnt know he was sick but thought something wasnt right , or didnt seem right inthe last couple of months . I wish now I had contacted him . This Forum will be sadder without his always much anticipated offerings , which , arrived like clockwork at the beginning of a new month up until recently . Rest Well Joe 90th |

| Didn't expect to see this. Absolutely shocking. Death is never good news, but on Christmas day is even worst. My condolences go to his family. Pete deadicating his work to a section of the forum, is a great tribute. I will certainly remember him by visiting the section. It's bad enough when the actors we know pass, let alone a member of the forum. R.I.P Joe. |

| Very sadly, I never knew Joe personally, but I have certainly seen and admired his models on this forum here. He will undoubtedly be missed by the modelling world, AZW enthusiasts and his family. Great tribute Admin, agreed. His work and memory will live on in this forum. Condolences to the family from me; rest in peace Joe. |

| This is very sad news indeed, and like my friend Gary (90th) has said, Joe didn't seem to be ok for the last few months, ie; he was always posting his new and brilliantly posed models, and he was always on time with his calendars, but he seemed to have got behind of late, no doubt this would be due to illness. Deepest sympathy to his family and friends. R.I.P. Joe. |

I always found 1st Lt's pictures truely inspirational, certainly my collection and display of Zulu war models was enhanced by his advice and example.
Will be sadly missed.

| Hi All, My most sincere condolences to Joe's family and friends, this is just aweful news. I have not been about due to the recent passing of my Dad on New Years day and this is such sad news about the 1stLt. - Joe.
He had a remarkable passion for this period and he gave us all so much pleasure with his wonderful creations and backdrop settings. He was always so very gracious towards me and my modelling work with his comments and support and I for one will miss his contribution to this forum. I too think it is a most fitting tribute to have a section dedicated to his work.
R.I.P. mate Richie
