| Afraid the buyer missed something if they think Lt White was a casualty, the Tavender Roll is about as useful as a stone teabag. My advice to anyone would be to consign their copy to the depths and use the likes of Regimental histories or John young's book which is far more accurate.
I bid the medal up pretty high as I don't have a 90th Officer medal in my collection but as soon as I noticed Tavender had him down as a casualty I thought it may go crazy.
Of course this is only presumption, its possible the buyer was just desperate for a 90th officer at any cost, hopefully it is the case as it would be a shame if someone was caught out

| Yes I got pics of it earlier in the week, its 100% 90th and a nice looking medal, 30th must have been a typo

Possibly incorrect. Because one of his letters in the Brecon Archives, covers action at Hlobane and Ulundi. |

| I just wonder why or how I. T. Tavender reached the conclusion he was Mortally Wounded at Khambula.
Then I looked at Arthur Oglivie White's date of birth - 1st April 1858 - maybe he was just a born joker!
Still alive and kicking in 1884 in the Hart's for that year it records: South African War - 1879 - Zulu Campaign - Affair of Zungen Nek, battles of Kambula and Ulundi. Medal with Clasp.
